What ADC Construction Delivers
At ADC Construction, patio construction means more than just completing a job. It means showing up on time, using quality materials, communicating clearly from quote to walkthrough, and standing behind the work long after the crew leaves Lodi.
Adam personally oversees every project. He earned his General B contractor’s license after serving in the US Army, and he built ADC Construction in 2022 on one principle: treat every property like it’s your own home. That standard applies to a small repair just as much as a six-figure remodel.
If you’ve been burned by a contractor who ghosted you after the check cleared, you’re not alone. We hear it every week. ADC is the answer to that. We pick up the phone after the build. We come back. We fix anything that needs fixing.
Inside an ADC patio build. A patio is two projects in one: the surface you stand on and, if it is covered, a structure attached to your house. Both have failure modes. A slab poured thin, without proper base or control joints, or pitched back toward the house will crack and pond water against your foundation. An attached patio cover is a structural addition that needs footings, a ledger flashed and lagged into real framing, and a permit. We build both parts to last, because a patio that traps water at the foundation is worse than no patio.
The work runs in order: assess drainage and slope so water moves away from the house, excavate and compact a proper base, form and pour with control joints (or set pavers on a correct bedding), then, for covers, dig and pour post footings, attach a properly flashed ledger, frame the cover to wind load, and pass inspection. We grade for drainage first because everything else is wasted if the water has nowhere to go.
In the Central Valley the patio is a real living space for most of the year, and the heat drives the design. We orient covers and choose materials for the long, hot Lodi-to-Sacramento summers, detail concrete pours for early-morning placement so it does not cure too fast and craze, and build attached covers so the roof tie-in does not become a leak the first winter. Because ADC holds a General B license, the slab, the structure, and any added electrical for fans or lighting are handled under one accountable contract.
On cost: a patio quote is driven by size, surface choice, drainage work, and whether it is covered. An open broom-finish slab is one number; stamped or paver surface, an attached engineered cover, drainage correction, and lighting is another. We itemize it on the free on-site visit so you can see exactly what the cover and the upgrades add before deciding.

Patio Construction Questions
How much does patio construction cost in Lodi, CA?
Cost varies widely based on project scope, material selection, and square footage. ADC Construction provides free, detailed, itemized quotes within 48 hours of your consultation so you know the exact investment before committing.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. ADC Construction holds a California General B contractor’s license and full liability insurance. Every project includes permit management, inspections, and warranty coverage.
How long does patio construction typically take?
Timelines depend on scope. We provide a realistic project schedule with your quote and keep you updated throughout. Most residential projects fall between 1 and 6 weeks depending on complexity.
Do you serve areas outside Lodi?
Yes. We serve 34 cities across San Joaquin, Sacramento, Amador, and Calaveras counties within a 30-mile radius of Lodi, excluding the Bay Area. View all service areas.
Do I need a permit for a covered patio?
An open slab usually does not, but an attached or freestanding patio cover is a structure and almost always does, because it carries a roof load and ties into your house. We pull the permit, build to the engineered detail, and handle inspections so the cover is legal and does not become a problem when you sell.
Will a new patio cause drainage problems against my foundation?
Not if it is built right. The slab has to be pitched away from the house and the site graded so water moves off, not toward the foundation. We solve drainage before we pour, because a patio that ponds water at the foundation is one of the most expensive mistakes a cheap crew leaves behind.
Concrete, pavers, or stamped: which should I choose?
It depends on budget, look, and how the space is used. A broom-finish slab is the most economical and durable; pavers allow repair of a single unit and resist cracking; stamped concrete gives a high-end look at a middle cost. We walk you through the trade-offs and Central Valley heat performance on the quote visit.
What if I have issues after the project wraps?
Adam personally answers the phone after every project. If something needs attention, we come back and fix it. That long-term relationship is the reason most of our work comes from referrals and repeat clients.
